As we watch the month of August come to a close, the reality sets in that there are just a few remaining days of summer. Let’s enjoy it while it lasts! Here are three of my favorite late summer events to enjoy.

Music Midtown Festival

In my humble, music-festival-loving opinion, the absolute best way to spend the last weekend of the summer is at the 7th Annual Music Midtown Festival at Piedmont Park. The lineup of artists this year is spectacular. Just think Bruno Mars and go from there! There’s also lots of food and cocktails for the adults. Speaking of the adults, I’d recommend leaving the kiddos home and making it a date weekend because the crowds are big. Dance away the remaining days of summer at Music Midtown! Creative Loafing Best of Atlanta Party

This year, for the first time, Terminal West here on the Westside will be hosting Creative Loafing’s Best of Atlanta Party. This iconic party will feature live performances by Atlanta musicians performing Atlanta inspired songs. Current list of performances include ATL Collective, Alex Guthrie, and OK Cello. The party also includes a post party dance party, an art installation, food trucks and more. Cirque du Soleil Luzia

Famous for its dazzling performances, amazingly talented dancers, and acrobatic performers, Cirque du Soleil is making a stop in Atlanta. The show, Luzia, is the Cirque’s vision of “a waking dream of Mexico.” They will be performing in Atlanta starting on September 14th at Atlantic Station. Ticket prices start at $35 and they do offer discounts on family packages. If you haven’t had a chance to see a Cirque show, you definitely must go. They are amazing! Burgers & Beats

As for your next Sunday Funday, take the whole family and head out to the Atlanta Food Truck Park on Howell Mill Rd. for the weekly Burgers & Beats. Along with the food trucks there is a variety of DJs, bands, and music performances all day. This is a free event! For more info visit: https://www.facebook.com/events/1380590818721212/.

So, there you have it, four great ways to get out there and squeeze out some late summer fun for the whole family. What other things do you and your family like to enjoy in Atlanta this time of year?

Cheers,

Michelle
