Average Sales Price Continues to Grow

Average sales price continues its upward growth indicating the housing market will remain very strong despite mortgage interest rate increases. The average sales price for Buckhead and the surrounding areas grew 2% and overall sales volume declined 45% from last March. However, looking at the neighborhood breakdown, we see dramatic sales growth in the E. Rivers, Morris Brandon and Bolton Elementary school districts, and declines in the areas outside Buckhead, but still in Atlanta.

The Atlanta Board of Realtors reports an increase of 2.3% in sales volume for the entire 11-county metro area, and a 6.2% increase in average sales price—to $307,000—from March 2016.
