Recently, I attended a workshop and we were asked to stand up and tell everyone which part of Atlanta we live. I stood up and said “Upper Westside.” Confused faces everywhere, except the other two women who live in Berkeley Park. Most Atlantans don’t know yet about how this area is growing. And, I’m here to tell ya about it!

More Beer

When Fire Maker Brewing Company opens this fall, it will be the 7th brewery to open on the Upper Westside. Located on Chattahoochee Avenue just south of Underwood Hills, the brewery will feature a 2,000 square foot Taproom that opens up to a covered patio. Joining the seven breweries in 2020 will be Scofflaw’s second location.

Don’t believe me? Check out my Google map with all the locations.

More Food

Once a week, go greekGrecian Greek, one of my new favorites, is now open in the Berkeley Park at the corner of Bellemeade and Northside Dr, in the space recently vacated by Blue Coast Burrito. I subscribe to their motto to “once a week, go greek.” The people are really nice, too!

They have a donut called Cereal Bowl – Joining Howell’s Kitchen & Bar, Cultivate Food and Coffee, and Zunzi’s at the corner of Howell Mill and Collier roads, is Marietta-based Doughnut Dollies. The donuts are baked fresh every morning in Marietta, and delivered to the Howell Mill location in time for the doors to open at 7am. You can even pre-order gluten-free donuts!

Okay, so not on the Upper WestsideFarm Burger will open in Midtown on Wednesday, July 24, inside the new Whole Foods Market on 14th Street. Have you been to this Whole Foods yet? It’s amazing!

More Traffic

That’s right, we have more multi-family developments coming our way.

Upper Westside Lofts, at the corner of Collier Rd and Defoors Ave, will be “a transit-supported live-work environment” that is  “designed to support the creative tech lifestyle,” according to the website. The 65,000 sq ft tower will have mixed-use retail at sidewalk level and underground parking for residents and retail customers.

Slated to open in November 2019, Vue at the Quarter, will offer 271 luxury apartments along Bolton Road. According to the builder’s website: “The three-building wood frame multi-family residence features an elegant mix of brick and Hardie panel exterior with high-end finishes.” And parking… oh, yes, parking for all those cars.

Check out my other Upper Westside updates to learn about all the other incredible things happening in the area!

Best,

Michelle
