If you’re like me, you travel up and down either Northside Dr or Howell Mill constantly. On one of my many trips down Northside Dr, I noticed elevator shafts being erected on the property where Hertz Rental used to be, you know, near the Goodwill. It reminded me of the first building that went up at the corner of 17th and Northside, so I went digging around the internet.

Yippee! According to building permits, we’re getting another self storage facility at 1484 Northside Dr. This will be the 3rd self storage facility on Northside Drive between 75 and IKEA, and the 5th facility in a half-mile radius. I’m not kidding.

This new facility is also across the street from an upcoming townhome development by Pulte Homes, currently—called Deering Townhomes—at the corner of Deering and Northside Dr. Pulte Homes is the same developer building the Altus at The Quarter off Marietta Blvd and Bolton Rd. Luxury townhomes in Altus are currently selling for low $500s. According to building permits, Pulte is planning to develop 60 4-story townhomes with a central amenities area. I reached out to Pulte, and hopefully will have more information soon.

Staying on the topic of townhomes, according to building permits, 29 townhomes will go up at 2079 Bolton Rd in the Riverside neighborhood where an old auto repair shop used to be, and around the corner from B’s Cracklin BBQ. I haven’t’ been able to find out more details, but I will track this development because I know many first-time home buyers are eagerly awaiting more housing inventory in Riverside.

And, Blandtown will get a 15-unit residential community called 864 Huff Road Townhomes, for now, across the street from the Waterworks. According to What Now Atlanta, prices will start in the low $700s.

The highly anticipated Waterworks Park—a 4-acre+ hilltop green space along Northside Drive and 17th street—opens for public use after the clean-up phase is complete by the end of this month, according to Curbed Atlanta. Details on other phases have not been released, but for now, it will be a nice greenspace to check out the Midtown skyline.

Check out other Westside updates on my blog.

If you are interested in learning more about any of these housing developments or finding your ideal place here on the Westside, please let me know. I’d love to help!

Cheers,
